Mathru School for the Differently-Abled Wednesday 1/8/14
It's been a mosaically-intense few days. After our marathon grouting session last Saturdsy, I finished four more new small (12 x 12) mosaics and grouted them all yesterday along with a couple more student pieces. I now have seven teaching pieces all finished to leave here at the school. All of them are basic but still well-designed and exploring different techniques.
I started another new piece yesterday, one of the larger 16x12 mirrors, and in this piece I'm incorporating some of my three-dimensional techniques. Two of the teachers are really interested and picking up the new techniques very fast, and I'll get them started on the other larger mirror projects today.
Muktha seems to have decided I'll be teaching here at the School for the Differently-Abled, and not over at the other school. This is fine with me: it's a pain having to move tools and supplies back and forth. On the other hand, it makes me feel even more cooped-up and isolated.
And yesterday morning I woke up with my throat on fire again, along with a headache and congested head and chest feeling. Definitely headed for another relapse. This did not do wonders for my morale, to say the least. I talked to Divya, and I guess I got my point across, because she got my prescription from my last doctor visit and went out and got me another five-day supply of meds before lunch. I had two doses yesterday, and while I don't feel good at least I am not feeling worse and in fact am starting to feel a little better.
Here comes the 6 a.m. prayer chant over the mosque loudspeakers. It really is nice to be able to turn the CI off and tune it out. I'll get this off now while the internet access is good and catch another hour of sleep.
